“June Nineteenth” came from thinking about freedom as more than a date or a word.
Freedom becomes real when you can define yourself without shrinking, apologizing, or waiting for somebody else to approve the version of you that feels true.
The confidence in the record is earned. It comes after pressure, doubt, and the decision to stop letting outside expectations write your identity.
For me, freedom is not just being released from something. It is having the courage to become somebody on purpose.
