My grandmother, Bobbie Louise Dickey-Earl, passed in 2016, but the love, lessons, and feeling of home connected to her never left.
“Grandma’s” came from that space.
I wanted the record to hold the way memory actually works: a voice, a feeling, a room, a lesson, a moment that can return without warning and make somebody feel close again.
Family love can shape you long after the person is gone. This song is gratitude, grief, and home in the same place. It is for my grandmother, and for anybody carrying someone they still love through the life they are building now.
