In a city that gave the world blues legends and hip-hop pioneers, a new voice is emerging from the South Memphis streets. Trey Trizzy, born and raised in the 38109, is crafting a sound that honors Memphis's musical legacy while pushing it into uncharted territory.
"Memphis made me," Trey says from his home studio, surrounded by posters of Three 6 Mafia, Al Green, and Stax Records artists. "Every song I write has these streets in it. The struggle, the faith, the hustle - it's all there."
His recent single "Oh My" has been gaining traction on Spotify's Fresh Finds playlist, while "BOX" explores deeper themes of success and sacrifice that resonate with listeners nationwide. Local radio station WHRK has been spinning his tracks during prime time slots.
Producer Mike "Blac" Johnson, who has worked with several Memphis artists, calls Trey "the real deal."
"He's not trying to be anybody else. He's got that Memphis grit but with a vulnerability you don't always hear. That's what makes him special."
With a growing fanbase and industry attention mounting, Trey Trizzy is poised to put Memphis back on the map - again.
